Schroon Lake, Thousand Acres Golf Course, and Lake George

I spent a few days up in the Adirondacks (as shown in the previous post). Here are some various shots of the areas. It hadn’t rained in awhile (it rained on my last day up there) so there are areas that were very dried out and the heat would turn the sky white in some places.

Here’s some of Schroon Lake where my mom and I stopped after hiking for some ice cream and a short walk.

Schroon Lake Military Memorial with some brutal sun.

Schroon Lake at midday.

A peek through the gazebo.

Mountain shadows along the lake side.

The next day, I went to the Thousand Acres Golf Club with both parents and we played nine holes in the heat along the Hudson River. There is a train track that runs between the course and the parking lot that adds to the picturesque-ness of the course.

Golf train tracks and a warning…that you think wouldn’t be needed.

Tracks to the south.

Scenic golf course.

We also went to Lake George, walked around, and saw the Big Apple Circus. Here are a few shots of the lake and the boats (having grown up on an island, I always feel at home around water and piers).

Lake George.

Houses on the lake.

Boat whistles playing a jaunty tune.

Paddles on the back of the boat.

A homestyle boat and pier shot.

While walking around we came across this carousel.

The carousel.

Carousel details.

Next up: The Big Apple Circus visits Lake George.
