In the heart of the Village, surrounded by NYU, we have Washington Square Park. It’s a nice park to sit in – be it on a bench or the fountain, play some chess, see some street performances, or just watch NY float on by no matter what the season. At the north end you have Washington Arch, which is a popular gathering point as well as a festive frame for the yearly christmas tree in that area. The fountain in the center is a popular place to sit and soak your feet on a hot day or, for the very brave and outgoing, to frolic through the water and splash around.
I always find myself passing through, so I have a ton of photos of this park. Here are a few of the latest ones.
Next week: A church up by the Soldier and Sailor Memorial.
