When you go to the Bronx Zoo and take over 800 pictures, you end up with quite a few nice ones. Here is a bundle of the animals in all their glory the day I went (sadly there were no tigers that weren’t hiding or sleeping too far away to get a nice shot).
Since I enter at the Asia gate, I always catch these guys waking up and eating breakfast in Jungle World.
The black leopard is awake and not amused.
How’s that for a meerkat pose?
The fat frog.
It’s slightly sad when kids refer to this as a pumba instead of a warthog…oh the power of Disney.
Just a lounging lemur.
You are interrupting my meal.
A tiny tortoise has his salad.
The wise eagle.
Shooting through the fence of their pen gives an interesting pattern dispersal.
The very brightly colored Flamingos.
Arctic birds nesting.
The lone penguin hides from the sun.
That is MY stick!
The elk antlers.
The polar bear lounges.
Creepiest turtle ever.
The butterfly lands.
A giraffe notices the crowd.
Waiting to steal someones lunch.
Loud and colorful, but look out!
This is my shade. Stay out!
The elephant takes a slow walk.
The pregnant rhino.
Greetings from the camel (watch out they spit).
Next week: Some of the architecture and statues of the zoo.
