From June 16th-18th, there was a massive sculpture in the seating area just west of Madison Square Park. It was a piece from Austrian artist Nychos and sponsored by the Tourist Board of Vienna. It depicts a giant-sized Sigmund Freud looming over a therapy couch. He is split open and his skeleton and organs peer down at the couch, where people can sit and have their photo taken (but keep your feet off or be chastised by the staff). I took some images as the sun set, in hopes that their lighting setup would create a nice creepy effect. Unfortunately, they opted to just use white lights, so the creep factor wasn’t that great. Have a look!

Next week: Some shots from the Bronx Zoo (there were some babies out!).
